The night slowly went deep. The owl continued its sound, as well as the crickets that lingered at the bushes. Accel and Summers were seen from afar, sitting together at the stairs near the front door. Shortly the blond took a jug and poured some coffee into Summers’ mug.

“Why are you hiding the truth, Accel? Tell me—why are you hiding it from your daughter!?” the woman asked with disappointment.

Accel didn’t break a word, and just stared at the moon.

“…Someday she will discover who you really are. So you have to prepare yourself,”

“What are you talking about, Summers? The ‘Accel’ you know is dead,” the sheriff uttered. Upon hearing that the blue-haired lady stood.

“You can’t just say that! I know you ever since. And I’m sure the least thing you wanted is to become a hero!”
“There’s a reason behind all these, Summers.” Accel defended. “It’s for you, and it’s for them.”

Summers only offered him a bitter face. “But remember…you can’t win her heart by hiding your past!”

Accel looked down, threw his remaining coffee into the ground and walked away. He then noticed Tyler who stood from afar, staring at him.

“Hey, boy! You scared me!” the blond joked, chuckling. Accel then leaned on the wall and took off his favorite hat. “It seemed to be a long day, isn’t it?” he continued. But as he turned back to his son, the boy was nowhere to be seen.

Meanwhile, Shannen opened the door of her room. It was empty. She looked for her brother around the house but couldn’t find him. As the girl went back to her room she unconsciously gazed at her window and saw Tyler sitting on a huge branch of an oak tree from outside.

“What are you doing there? I was looking all over for you,”

“Oh…sorry,” Tyler answered in a straight tone.
“Come on in and let’s sleep together,”

Tyler snickered. “You’re a girl—and a man shouldn’t sleep with a little girl,”

The blonde laughed back. Are you kidding me? You’re just a boy, not a man! And besides we’re just—“
“Brother and sister, I know,” Tyler assumed.

There was a sudden pause.

“It’s okay, I’ll just stay here. Besides, it’s cooler here and—”

“..There are lots of mosquitoes. Don’t blame me when you have bites all over your face tomorrow morning,” Shannen butted.

Tyler didn’t listen. A little later he indeed heard a mosquito flying next to his ear. Then it bit his cheek.
Slapping himself, he answered, “Fine. I’ll sleep on the floor,”
“That’s better!” Shannen smiled at him. The young man just blushed.

“Mom is so nice, isn’t she?” the girl assumed.
“That’s what you say,” Tyler retorted.

Shannen turned her head at him. “What do you mean?”
“You’ll know soon.”

“Well, Dad is nice too, don’t you think?” Shannen added. “Daddy is such a hero. If it wouldn’t be for him, Sendsand Town might still be in chaos,”

“Accel’s no hero. He’s a liar,”
“What?”
Tyler didn’t reply this time.
Why did he call Daddy a liar? Who does he think he is? Silly boy. Shannen thought.

“Tyler,” Shannen called. Still, no response.
Thinking that her brother fell asleep, Shannen ceased from talking. A minute later the boy felt a warm cloth, slowly covering him. He turned and saw his sister cladding him with a soft blanket.

“Did I wake you up? Sorry,”

“No…it’s okay,” the young man paused. “Thanks,”
“Goodnight,” she told him.

“…Goodnight,” he told her back.
